A student filmmaker from New York University has been electrocuted and another seriously injured while
working on a movie set in Monticello, Georgia. Authorities say the NYU crew had run electrical wiring around a
house to light a night shoot with a power generator Thursday night when a mechanical arm lift on a truck parked across the road struck overhead electrical lines. Jasper County sheriff’s Lt. Jerry Robinson said Saturday that when that happened it sent a charge through the wires the crew was working with. One of the shocked students had to be airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. The other, 22-year-old John Hunt Lamensdorf of Sarasota, Florida, who had been setting up lights about 100 yards away from the truck in the rear of the house, was pronounced dead at Jasper Memorial Hospital.
