ST. HELENA, SC (December 25/4:00 PM) – Three men wanted in connection with a triple shooting in Carrollton, GA were taken into custody this afternoon on St. Helena.

Georgia authorities have been searching for 23-year old Robert Robinson, 20-year old Lance Thomas, Jr., and 20-year old Jarrell Washington after identifying the three men as suspects in a shooting that left two men dead, and one man wounded at a home in Carrollton, GA.

After being able to identify Robinson as the shooter, the investigating Carrollton Police officers learned that Robinson had ties to Beaufort County, specifically the St. Helena area. The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office was notified to be on the lookout for the above suspects, possibly traveling in a white sedan in the area of Folly Rd.

Sheriff’s deputies had been searching the area continuously when a deputy spotted a white sedan occupied by three suspects matching the provided description leaving the Folly Rd area just after 12:00 this afternoon. A traffic stop was conducted as the vehicle turned onto John Fripp Rd. Upon coming to a stop, the driver, later identified as Robinson, immediately jumped out of the vehicle and fled on foot.

Deputies made contact with the two remaining passengers, identified as Thomas and Washington, at the vehicle and detained them. Georgia authorities were notified and advised the Sheriff’s Office that both Thomas and Washington were wanted. Both men were subsequently placed under arrest as Fugitives from Justice.

A perimeter was established around the area, with the Sheriff’s Office K-9 Tracking Team responding to assist in the search for Robinson. Sheriff’s deputies received information that Georgia authorities had been able to track Robinson through his cell phone usage and believed him to be near the area Hwy 802 and Hwy 21.

Deputies responded to the area and continued to search for Robinson. As a member of the K-9 Tracking Team pulled into the parking lot of the nearby Citgo gas station, he noted a black male subject, matching the provided description of Robinson, talking on a pay phone outside the store. Upon seeing the deputy, Robinson immediately surrendered, and was taken into custody without further incident.

All three suspects were transported to the Beaufort County Detention Center, where they will remain pending extradition to Georgia.
