Man Arrested After Shooting Outside Nightclub

SAVANNAH, Ga.—Police said a 26 year-old man is under arrest in connection with a shooting that happened early Saturday morning.

Jeremy W. Johnson, 26, is chaged with aggravated assault.

Savannah Chatham Metro Police Department said the shooting happened at the Barnard Street ramp just before 3:00 a.m.  Authorities said two women, Tieshia and Shanta Houston, were shot after leaving a nightclub.

Police said the victims got caught in an exchange of gunfire between Johnson and another man. 

Officers said the women were not the target of the shooter, discounting earlier reports by witnesses that the victims were shot after the women rejected a request for her phone number.

Shanta Houston was released from the hospital Thursday, while her sister Tieshia is still in critical condition.
