Metro Police say three people are under arrest after trying to carjack a man at gunpoint.

Authorities say it happened around 5:00 p.m. Wednesday.  Police say the victim was talking to someone outside the CVS store at 301 E. Montgomery Cross Road when he saw a man trying to get into his car.

Police say the owner walked over to the man.  The suspect walked away but came back with at least one other person.  The two approached the victim with a gun, but they didn’t succeed in taking the car.  The suspects got away on foot with another person.

20-year-old Antoine Hilee Johnson of Savannah and 19-year-old Jairus Corneilus Anderson of Richmond Hill are charged with Armed Robbery and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Crime.  Omer Maurice Smalls, 20, of Savannah is charged with Party to the Crime of Armed Robbery.

Luckily no one was hurt.  Metro Police say they don’t encourage anyone to approach or argue with a suspect.  If you see something suspicious, you’re asked to call police immediately.
