Search for New Savannah Chatham Police Chief Continues

The search continues for a new Savannah Metro Police Department Chief.
Today city and county leaders met to discuss where the process stands.
They’ve received twenty seven applications and are hoping for more.
The first candidate screening will happen mid November.
Interim Police Chief Willie Lovett, says he’s interested in the position but has not yet handed in his application.
“I have an investment here. I live here, my family lives here and I think that is important that my family along with everyone else have a safe place to live play and work,” says Lovett. }
This is the second time he has held the position of interim chief.  The previous time was after Chief Dan Flynn left in 2005.
