Search Plan For New Police Chief Progressing

Just one day after the announcement that Assistant Chief Willie Lovett will once again serve as Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Interim Chief, News 3 has learned the plan for replacing Chief Michael Berkow is nearly finalized.  In fact, the Police Policy Committee in charge of the search may announce details of that plan as early as next week.  It is expected to include a national search as well as a search committee that would include citizen members with the goal of having a new chief in place by the second quarter of next year.
