A mom calls News 3’s Randi Hempel for help after First Student and the Savannah-Chatham County School district don’t respond to her concerns about her son not being brought home from school as well as late and no-show buses.  First Student and district officials admit it’s their fault and First Student officials say “we dropped the ball.“

Deadly Train Collision in Hardeeville, South Carolina

A passenger train hit a vehicle late Monday night near Hardeeville, South Carolina, killing 4 people.
Jasper County Coroner Martin Sauls III said Tuesday morning three adults and a 12-year-old child from Hardeeville died.

Mother and Son Dead after Beaufort County Shooting

A mother and her four-year-old son are dead after a shooting in Beaufort County last night.  And the woman’s two-year old son, also shot, is in the hospital.  It all happened on Player Lane in the Dale community, near Seabrook.  Officials got the call about 7 o-clock Sunday night.  The victims: 34-year-old Jeanine Mullen and four-year-old Walt Mullen.  Dozens of neighbors and family members were at the scene showing their support for the victims’ family. 

Savannah Stores Hopeful for Holiday Shopping Season

Finally some good news on the economy, retail sales are up. The Commerce Department says total sales rose one point four percent last month compared to September. A trend stores are hoping continues into the holiday season. To make sure they do they’re pulling out all the stops.
