Police on Savannah's Southside are working to reduce crime. So far this year, Savannah-Chatham Police tell us violent crime has dropped by 30%there.
This morning, Southside Precinct Commander Captain Richard Zapal, cruised the streets of Windsor Forest and Coffee Bluff. He stopped to speak with neighbors, listening to their concerns. His goal is to raise awareness of their presence and also to get more feedback about what's going on in his precinct's neighborhoods.
Captain Richard Zapal, Southside Precinct Commander:
"Most of the feedback has been positive. Everybody seems to be pretty happy with the police services, there's not many issues. We had one non-police related issue, so we'll pass that along to the 3-1-1"
In the coming months, Captain Zapal will continue visiting Southside neighborhoods. If you live in that part of town, have concerns, and would like to speak with Captain Zapal and his staff, give them a call at the Southside precinct. The number is 912-351-3400.
