3rd ID Says Hutchinson’s Child Never in Protective Services
» 1 Comment | Post a Comment

HUNTER AAF, Ga.—A Third Infantry Division Soldier stationed at Hunter Army Airfield is being investigated after she did not deploy with her unit to Afghanistan.

Specialist Alexis Hutchinson claims she has no one to care for her 10 month old son during deployment.

Her attorney says Hutchinson was put in military jail and her child was placed in child protective services.

Kevin Larson, a spokesperson for the unit Hutchinson is a member of, says the child was never in protective services but under the care of a certified military family care provider.

Larson says Hutchinson’s deployment has been delayed until the allegations of misconduct are investigated.

Commanders at Fort Stewart, Georgia, are continuing to review information surrounding the alleged misconduct of Specialist Alexis Hutchinson.  SPC Hutchinson’s son, Kamani, is safely with his grandmother in California while SPC Hutchinson remains on Hunter Army Airfield at a barracks.  The allegations against SPC Hutchinson include alleged violations of the Uniform Code of Military Justice and, out of consideration for young Kamani and his Soldier-mother, will be handled as expeditiously as possible.  In the meantime, SPC Hutchinson’s fellow Soldiers have departed for Afghanistan while her deployment is postponed indefinitely pending the due process of this ongoing review.
