Beaufort Woman Arrested for Child Abuse

Beaufort Police say 24-year-old Natacia Laurant was arrested Thursday. The charges stem from a hospital stay of Laurant’s 4-year-old step-daughter. The child was taken by ambulance to Beaufort Memorial Hospital, and, after evaluating the child, staff there called police. Laurant is now charged with inflicting great bodily harm on a child.
