Camp Memorial Service for Captain Matthew Freeman
As family and friends at home said good-bye, Captain Matthew Freeman’s other family also bade him farewell.
These are pictures taken by SMSgt Rex Temple from a military memorial in Afghanistan in his honor.
Roll call was announced and Capt. Freeman did not respond to his name being called out. His boots, gun, dog tags, and his purple heart and bronze star—along with a picture—were set aside as fellow marines kneeled and paid their final respects.
