ATLANTA (AP) - A group of civil rights leaders is gathering in
Atlanta to discuss the case of a convicted death row inmate who
says he is innocent and should be spared from execution.
The Rev. Al Sharpton’s National Action Network is meeting
Thursday to focus on the case of Troy Davis, a Savannah man
convicted of the 1989 murder of a Savannah police officer.
Davis’ fate has drawn worldwide attention, including support
from former President Jimmy Carter and Pope Benedict XVI.
Supporters say he deserves a new trial after several witnesses
took back their testimony, but prosecutors stand by the conviction.

It is time to stop with this case. I have heard about this forever this gentlemen has gotten so many stays that it isn’t funny he should of been executed along time ago. What about the McPhails and there loss guess that doesn’t matter he is dead his children had to grow up without him so forget the dead and give the living all the publicity.I do believe that Davis is guilty of this crime I have followed this story forever. I will say this so much time has gone by that witness’s are older & the events are no longer fresh in there minds why all the sudden after all these years do they tell a different story makes a person wonder why if you get my drift. I hope the MCphails read this my heart goes out to you I have been there myself. Only the murderers was set free. Please remember this judgement day will come at the end.It is just ashame that this Davis guy get all the publicity and news and rallys who pays for that?? We the taxpayers pay for his housing etc. we are sick of the stays. Someone should help with getting the media involved etc. on the MCphails give them coverage on how hard it is not to have Mark around to love.
