Cupcake Diva Making Ends Meet
Resourceful Way To Make Money
A Savannah Woman who lost her job is responding by starting her own business.
“This is the one of a kind German Chocolate. This is actually a sampler box.“ Melanie Polote misses her job at Choate Construction. She’s a victim of this horrible economy. “It’s been pretty tough, but I guess the main thing is just staying positive, staying focused, and keeping that same drive that you have every day and go to an 8 to 5. Why not create an 8 to 5 for yourself if you can?,“ says Melanie. After being laid off in February, Melanie decided to face the challenge with a sweet touch! “Basically I started just baking cupcakes and cookies. I started using all the talents. People were saying you should sell this.“ Melanie is blending one of her many talents to increase her chances of making money. It’s called being resourceful. “I personally will not let this economy defeat me. I worked too hard to get everything I have. I’m not going to lose it. That’s not an option.“ This Cupcake Diva says this is her time of opportunity and she will not let it slip away. “If I create my own hours, create my manpower, create what I put out there and what I receive in how much I spend, I’m in control of my own destiny so no one could ever put me in this position again. I call this my stimulus cupcake. Lord bring me some money. Melanie says she spent 200 dollars of her tax refund to get started.
