BRUNSWICK, Ga. (AP) - A Georgia man on trial for molesting and
slaying a 6-year-old boy says “I should be punished” in a
videotaped police interview shown to the jury.
Jurors in the death penalty trial of 61-year-old David Edenfield
watched the second hour of his taped confession to a police
detective Thursday morning in a Brunswick courtroom.
Edenfield admits on the tape that he and his grown son molested
young Christopher Michael Barrios in their mobile home while
Edenfield’s wife watched.
The suspect also admitted placing his hands on top of his son’s
hands as his son strangled the boy.
Glynn County police detective Raymond Sarro (SAHR-ROW) was
scheduled to return to the witness stand Thursday afternoon so he
could be cross-examined by Edenfield’s defense lawyers.
