Hampton County Searching For Answers in Double Shooting
One person has died and another has been flown from the scene of a shooting on Tuliffiny Road outside of Yemassee.
A call came into officers around 9p.m. Friday night as deputies responded to a shooting call on Tulifinny Road.
Once deputies arrived on scene they discovered 24 year old Anthony Badger at the back door of a residence attempting to get help after being shot.
After EMS personnel had begun assisting the first victim, a second victim was found laying in the yard of a residence at 1026 Tulifinny Road, the home next door.
The second victim, 23 year old Donnmick Badger, died on scene.
Anthony Badger was flown to Savannah Memorial for treatment of a gunshot wound to the stomach.
The two were brothers.
Law enforcement brought in the Hampton County Sheriff’s Office Canine Tracking Team to search for a suspect who was initially reported to have fled on foot. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division also responded to the call.
Officers later discovered the suspect had left the area in a vehicle. Search warrants have been issued in the case and the Hampton County Sheriff’s Office currently has one suspect in custody.
