Man Killed at Club Exclusive

One man is behind bars after being charged with murder.
Police arrested Joseph Brunson for the murder of Derek Melton. Police say Brunson has an extensive criminal history.
They say Brunson killed Melton last night outside of Club Exclusive which is on the corner of Bull and 41st Street.
Melton an employee of the club had escorted Brunson out of the club earlier in the evening. Later on Brunson returned with a gun.
In an effort to protect the others Melton confronted him.
‘It’s a horrible tragedy and a combination of anger and alcohol and firearms and nothing is good is ever going to come of it. There is a family that doesn’t have somebody coming home to them because of that,” says Judy Pal of SCMPD.
Brunson is expected in court on Monday.
