Man robs South Carolina nightclub, is later found dead

Authorities in Colleton County, South Carolina are investigating the death of a man they say apparently robbed a nightclub early Sunday morning and was then shot and killed outside the club.  Officials say about 2:30 Sunday morning, deputies responded to a 911 call in reference to an armed robbery and shooting at Leon’s Night Club located 8150 in Round-0, South Carolina.

Officials say the armed robbery suspect, 31 year old Lamont Truesdale of Jacksonboro, South Carolina, help up the night club armed with a shotgun; took money from the cash register and then fled on foot. Truesday was later found outside the club lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials say 28 year old Elijah Martin of Cottageville, South Carolina has been arrested in connection with the shooting. Martin is being held in the Colleton County Detention Center.
