Moment Of Silence For Fort Hood Soldiers
(Savannah) A day of mourning at military bases across the country. Outside Garrison Headquarters building on Hunter Army Airfield flags were at half staff - a tribute to those who lost their lives at Fort Hood. Inside soldiers setting up for a disaster training exercise. At 2:34 today they paused to remember their fellow soldiers. Sergeant Emmanuel Walker says he feels a strong connection after spending 3 years at Fort Hood. “I know exactly where these events took place and my condolences go out to all the families that lost loved ones and people they probably will never see again and people that remain in critical condition.”
Heartbroken, Sergeant Walker and his fellow soldiers ask the obvious question- why… as they deal with grief and focus on the future. “Hope that we can get everything figured out and become a stronger community in the Army today, says Sergeant Walker.
