GREENWOOD, S.C. (AP) - A company that provides outsourced
customer services has announced plans to bring 900 jobs to South
Carolina.
State Commerce Department spokeswoman Kara Borie said Monday
that Sykes Enterprises Inc. will expand current operations in
Greenwood and Williamsburg counties, adding 400 jobs in each
county. The company will also establish new operations in Sumter
County, creating 100 new jobs.
Chuck Sykes, the company’s president and chief executive
officer, says the company has seen a strong demand for outsourcing,
even amid economic downturns.
The Tampa, Fla.-based company announced the expansions earlier
this month with ribbon-cutting ceremonies in Greenwood and
Williamsburg counties.
