She is the most popular cook on the Food Network, and she’s from Savannah.

Paula Deen stayed home for her latest book signing, and it created quite a stir..

The line seemed to keep going and going and going, folks waiting hours on end just for a few minutes with Paula.

The savannah chef brought hundreds of folks out to Lady and Sons for her latest book signing. People willing to beat the heat for an autograph and some face time with the food network star.

One of those people was Cindy Morrell. She drove all the way from Paris, Texas last night.

“My mother in law has been ill,“ explained Cindy. “A year ago I promised her if she could get up, start walking around again I’d bring her to see Paula Deen, so we drove 15 hours, no sleep.  We’re here!“

Julie Napier is spending her 50th birthday in line with friends, all for Paula.

“She’s a happy, fun person.“ said Julie. “And we just enjoy watching her.“

The line was so long Paula’s husband Michael even came out to sign a few books for the folks at the back. Folks like Breanne Morris.

“I think she’s a great Southern cook and she’s an inspiration to a lot of people that are domestic housewives and stay at home moms,“ said Breanne.  “And she’s made a great career for herself.“

Once inside, each person got a picture, a few words, and some face time with Paula. She was thrilled with the turnout, believing it’s a testament to her show, and the love she puts into it.

“I think that people know that while I don’t know them personally I love them and care what happens to them,“ smiled Paula.

But who would Paula love to stand in line for?

“Elvis?,“ laughed Paula. “Maybe Elvis or my grandson Jack.“

If you missed Paula’s book signing, don’t worry, she’ll be back for more fun with her fans in just a few weeks. We’ll tell you where and when.

Glad she had time today to sign her cook books, when we met her she did not have time to sign the cook books we had just bought, we seen her at Paula Live, would not go back again to see her.
