(Savannah) October has been an inspiring month for breast cancer awareness.  The campaign ended today with the pink bag luncheon at Candler Hospital.
Participants were treated to variety of mini-seminars based on healthy living and reducing your risk of breast cancer.  Topics included early detection, mammograms, and eating the proper foods.  A massage chair was popular as people learned about the benefits of complimentary medicine.
Survivor Gayle Maze says the luncheon made her day.  “There are so many of us out here and it’s just been an awesome ride.  There is a silver lining to cancer.  You become a different person, a better person.  After all the pain is over and done, then the fun begins.“  Paint The Town Pink was sponsored by The Savannah Morning News, St. Joseph’s Candler and WSAV.
