With two young sons and a demanding job, 37-year-old Katy Labauve is a busy lady.
For the past ten months, Katy has been making a conscious effort to get healthier and stronger, even if she only has a few minutes a day.
“You can do push-ups against a wall, you can do crunches, sit-ups, you can do lunges, walking lunges, squats,“ she says.
Graywood Sports Club Fitness Director Laura Dougherty says for on-the-go folks, circuit training is a great way to maximize the amount of calories you can burn.
“Do some kind of interval or circuit training, where you’re sticking with five to eight exercises,“ says Laura, “one minute at a time with moderate weight.“
Katy spends a lot of time on the road for work, but Laura says this shouldn’t be an excuse for working out.
“Rubber tubing, you can easily pack in your suitcase,“ says Laura, “and I also use something called a TRX suspension trainer. It comes with a door attachment, so you can take it with you anywhere and do any kind of weight-bearing activity.“
Steady, repetitive movements for a few minutes a day can help you tone up without leaving your room or office.
So whether you have 15 minutes or an hour and 15 minutes, make time to exercise.
You’ll feel better in the long run.
