Natural gas rates for South Carolina
Electric & Gas customers are going down again.
The utility says its purchased gas prices will fall just over 1
percent in January, which should mean a $1.43 savings for the
average customer.
Natural gas prices have been dropping for several months and
SCE&G passes on the cost of the gas it buys straight to customers
with no markup.
The utility says gas prices for its average customer using 100
therms of gas a month have dropped nearly 25 percent since July.
SCE&G makes monthly adjustments to its gas rates based on
12-month forecasts of how much natural gas will cost.
