Update 1:20 p.m.:  Savannah police now say the vehicle that crossed from eastbound to westbound lanes on Highway 80 Sunday was a jeep.  All three people who died, according to police, were in the jeep.


Police have released the names of the three people who died in Sunday’s horrible accident on Highway 80.  They are: 25-year old Nicholas Bertrand, 49-year old Barbara Shiver and 18-year old Alicia Anderson.  According to police, all are from Savannah.

The accident happened between Bryan Woods Road and Suncrest Boulevard.  Police told us Sunday, a Jeep traveling eastbound on Hwy. 80 crossed the median into oncoming traffic.  Metro police say all three of the people who died were in that vehicle.
