UPDATE: Partial Collapse of ATL Parking Deck

ATLANTA (AP) - A parking deck at a building near the Georgia
Tech campus has partially collapsed and emergency personnel were
waiting to secure the structure before searching through piles of
wrecked cars.
Atlanta firefighter Bobby Stewart says there are no immediate
reports of any injuries. He says about 50 firefighters are at the
scene, waiting until they determine if the structure was safe to
enter.
The partial collapse of the building occurred at a parking
structure near a book store and gym frequented by Tech students.
Witness Shawn Dodson says he was eating lunch in his car on the
far side of the building.
He says “it sounded like the building was being demolished.“
Television reports show that a parking deck at a
downtown building has partially collapsed.
The incident happened at 5th and Spring Street near downtown
Atlanta Monday morning.
Cars were piled on top of each other in the portion of the deck
that collapsed.
Police, firefighters and other emergency personnel were on the
scene at the multilevel parking structure.
