What Fireworks are Legal in Georgia

Fourth of July is synonymous with fireworks…but before you shoot rockets into the night sky listen to this.
Georgia has some pretty strict laws regarding fireworks and if you disobey them you could end up with a hefty fine.
“Typically the fireworks you can buy in places like Wal-Mart or Target those are all legal so buy them. If you have to go across the bridge to South Carolina and buy them, probably not a good idea,” points out APO Gene Harley of the Savannah Chatham Metro PD.
The Police Department says your best bet and the safest is to take advantage of the many free firework displays in our area.
