SAVANNAH, Ga.—A Savannah woman has been given a $5,000 bond after being arrested Wednesday on two counts of felony animal cruelty.

Officials say Elizabeth Carver was arrested after her former landlord found two small dogs locked in a storage room near the carport of the property. Both dogs were dead.  The landlord made the duscovery on October 2nd.

An attorney for Carver told the judge Carver had moved from the property some time ago and that these “were not her dogs.“

A police officer then told the judge that Carver had reportedly been back and forth to the property for the past several months and that she had assumed caring for the dogs, which may have been strays.

A hearing has been set for October 20th.
