Savannah Chatham Metro Police say the body of a young man believed to be a SCAD student was found in downtown Savannah shortly after six Monday morning by a city worker.  According to police reports, a City of Savannah maintenance worker called emergency dispatchers to report the discovery in the 100 block of Congress Lane near the Broughton Municipal Building (BMB).

The Coroner’s Office now has custody of the body for a medical examination and autopsy to determine cause of death.  Metro Police say it will likely be Tuesday before the man’s identity is released.  They are awaiting notification of next of kin.
