The Savannah Chapter of the American Red Cross kicks off the third annual “Dollars for Disasters Week” campaign to benefit local disaster relief.

Today, SCCPSS and the Savannah Chapter of the American Red Cross will kick-off the third annual “Dollars for Disasters Week” campaign to raise funds for local disaster relief.  The campaign will last through Friday, January 30, 2009.  The kick-off ceremony will be held at the Board of Education Central Office, 208 Bull Street, beginning at 11:00 a.m.  Dr. Thomas Lockamy, School Superintendent, Dr. Joe Buck, School Board President, school administrators and Red Cross officials will be in attendance.  The following schools will participate in this year’s campaign:  Bartow Elementary, Bloomingdale Elementary, Butler Elementary, Gadsden Elementary, Garden City Elementary, Gould Elementary, Garrison Elementary, Heard Elementary, Isle of Hope Elementary, Largo-Tibet Elementary, Pooler Elementary, Port Wentworth Elementary, Southwest Elementary, West Chatham Elementary, Oglethorpe Academy, Southwest Middle, West Chatham Middle, Savannah High, and Windsor Forest High.  For more information, contact the local Red Cross at (912) 651-5300 or click here: Savannah Red Cross
