Real Men Read Books
In an effort to promote literacy, Haven Elementary School is hosting its “Real Men Read” program this week.
Real men read books! That’s the message Haven Elementary is sending to its students. Educators recognize children are reading less and as a result, their education is suffering. In an effort to promote literacy, the school is hosting its “Real Men Read” program November 3rd, 5th and 6th. This the second consecutive year Haven is trying to reach their most reluctant readers… male students, by inviting men from our community to read to the children. The program takes place from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Teachers will provide the books. Interested male readers may sign up in the main office or contact the counselor, Diedre Herdsman, at 912-395-6503.
