BEAUFORT, SC—The campuses of the University of South Carolina Beaufort are open after a bomb threat was called in Monday.

Law enforcement gave the all-clear for the Beaufort and Hilton Head Gateway campuses just before 6:00 p.m.

University authorities said the call came in at 12:50 p.m., and the caller did not specify which campus was the target of threat.

Campus Police used the emergency phone/text messaging system to alert students, faculty and staff to evacuate.

Remaining classes were cancelled for the remainder of the day.

Police and bomb-sniffing dogs searched both campuses after the evacuation. The search revealed no threats, and all residential students were allowed to return.

Classes will resume as normal on Tuesday.
