Beaufort County Elementary Student Left at Wrong Bus Stop
A five-year-old Broad River Elementary School student was dropped off at the wrong bus-stop Monday afternoon, left wandering alone. A good-willed man took the frightened boy to the Shadow Moss housing office where his parents later picked him up. His mother, Lequann Cueves, said she waited at his regular bus-stop on Mink Point Blvd. and was shocked when he didn’t walk off the bus.

USC Beaufort Opens New Campus Center
Higher education at the University of South Carolina Beaufort has a lot more perks this year, but you have to pay for them. A new dining facility and fitness center opened this week. Both are partly supported by a new fee tacked on to students’ bills. If you live on campus, you must pay $850 semester and you get 10 meals a week. If you’re a full-time commuter student, you must pay $235, which will give you 30 meals a semester. Both fees include the use of a new workout center. Lowcountry Reporter Holly Bounds dropped by for day two at the dining hall to get a student and administrator perspective on the new plan.

Thirty-five pounds of cocaine off the street. More than $140 thousand dollars seized. And seven people busted. Those are the numbers from the Beaufort County sheriff Thursday from a drug case that started early last year. The front, apparently, under the name of Duran Plumbing Services in Bluffton.
