Fallen Hunter AAF Soldiers Remembered

Chief Warrant Officer Michael P. Montgomery, 36, was killed Monday in Afghanistan.
HUNTER ARMY AIRFIELD, Ga.—The reality of the war hitting close to home, as a private memorial service was held Friday for five Hunter Army Airfield soldiers killed this week.
Defense officials said seven soldiers were killed in Afghanistan Monday when the MH-47 helicopter they were in crashed.
Among the dead was Chief Warrant Officer Michael P. Montgomery, 36, who lived in Savannah with his wife and five year-old son. He was a pilot and electronic warfare officer and was originally from Redmond, Washington.
Also killed was Chief Warrant Officer Niall Lyons, 40, of Spokane, Wash.; Staff Sgt. Shawn H. McNabb, 24, of Terrell, Texas; Sgt. Josue E. Hernandez Chavez, 23, of Reno, Nev.; and Sgt. Nikolas A. Mueller, 26, of Little Chute, Wisc.
Two Fort Bragg, NC soldiers were also killed.
