A moment of silence at military bases across the United States just took place.  Defense Secretary, Robert Gates, directed a moment of silence throughout the Department of Defense today to honor the victims in Thursday’s attack at Fort Hood, Texas.

The Third Infantry Division is now in command of Multi National Division Forces in Iraq.

The reality of the war hitting close to home, as a private memorial service was held Friday for five Hunter Army Airfield soldiers killed this week.

Defense officials released the identities of seven soldiers killed in Afghanistan this week. Five of the dead were stationed at Hunter Army Airfield.
