No Second Apology from Congressman Wilson

It all began with two words… “you lie”. That’s what South Carolina Congressman Joe Wilson yelled out Wednesday during President Barack Obama’s speech to Congress on health care reform.  The outburst hurled Wilson into the national spotlight… diverting attention away from health care reform and placing it on political decorum.

Wilson did apologize to President Obama. Although the president accepted his apology, not everyone was as forgiving. Reaction was swift from lawmakers and ordinary citizens. Both divided on the issue.

In Beaufort yesterday, a war of words. Those who condemn the congressman’s actions versus those who support him. They clashed in front of Wilson’s office… sending tempers flaring and pitting neighbor against neighbor.

But this battle may be far from over, House Democrats are asking for an apology from Wilson to Congress. They plan to propose a resolution of disapproval this week if he doesn’t. As for Wilson, he says one apology is enough.
