Baby Zoe Heads Home to Hazlehurst

It’s a story about a baby who's been fighting for his life after being born premature with several serious medical conditions.

Today, baby Zoe Simpson left the neonatal unit at memorial hospital and saw the light of day for the first time in his life. That's after he spent eight weeks in the hospital, being treated for Hydrops. He had fluid on his brain, was swollen and didn't have sight, but things are looking up.

"One time, my dad stayed up really late praying and his eyes got better,” explains big brother Isaac.

”It almost doesn't seem real. Like I said before, we expected this day to happen, but yet not knowing yet if it would. Here we are taking him home and here we are taking him home. He's healthy enough to go home and that's exciting,” explains mom Carmen Simpson.

“It's gonna be a lot of fun once he gets home,” adds Isaac.

Baby Zoe will have many follow up doctor's appointments.  We will be sure to keep you posted on his progress.
