The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control’s Region 8 Public Health Services, which serves Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton and Jasper counties, will hold appointment-only influenza vaccination clinics on Oct. 23 and 30 and Nov. 6 in Jasper County.

Residents who want to reduce their risk of flu should call for an appointment. Clinics will be conducted by appointment to reduce the likelihood of waiting.

The DHEC flu shot clinics will be held:
Oct. 23 and 30 and Nov. 6, 2007
DHEC's Jasper County Public Health Department
359 East Wilson Street, Ridgeland
Call (843) 726-7788 for an appointment.

• When e-mailing an appointment request, residents should include the requested appointment date/time, first/last name, date of birth and a contact telephone number for ALL individuals needing an appointment.
• There is a $25 charge for the vaccination, which Medicare Part B and Medicaid will cover for those who are eligible. Cash or check payment also will be accepted. Please do not let cost prevent you from seeking your flu shot. Ask how we can help.
• Residents with Internet access also can find other local flu shot clinic information at the DHEC website at http://www.scdhec.gov/flu or at http://www.thecarolinascenter.org/fcf
