After a briefing on the H1N1 virus, President Obama offered this adviceskipping your swine flu shot is not a good idea.

“This program will be completely voluntary, but it will be strongly recommended,“ said President Obama.

The vaccine won’t be ready until mid-October and that first batch won’t be enough for everyone.

But states don’t seem worried.

“There is an opportunity for every Virginian to access to the vaccine,“ said Virginias Health Commissioner Karen Remley.

Until then, experts insist, soap and water is the best defense.

School children, and even public officials, are being “re” taught how to wash their hands.

“These guys corrected me quickly. I didn’t use enough soap. I didn’t wash my hands long enough,“ said Virginia Governor Tim Kaine.

All over the country, educators insist classes will stay open.

Milwaukee School District Health Coordinator Kathleen Murphy said, “If a sick child comes to school we will send them home but closing school is not on the agenda right now.“

Evidence shows young adults, teens and children are a prime target.

Parent Kristin Schiller said, “He’s not even two yet so it scares me.“

This Indianapolis couple believes they gave the H1Ni virus to their one-year-old son. He’s okay.

I had probably three comforters on me, it was freezing from probably seven until two in the morning,“ said parent Leah Matis.

But an Alabama sixth-grader’s death, just hours after being hospitalized, has officials there worried.
