A bright pink trailer stopped by Savannah today.
The trailer otherwise known as the “Komen on the Go” trailer spent the morning at Savannah State University.
The trailer travels across the country teaching young women about lifelong breast health practices and breast cancer. Stopping at colleges, universities and fairs, it is the mobile unit of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
“That was started by a woman named Nancy Brinker when her sister Susan was dying of breast cancer. She promised her sister that she would find a way to get rid of breast cancer forever and so the Susan G Komen for the cure was started,” explains Jessica Rau who is a coordinator with the organization.
This event is just one of many taking place throughout the month of October to raise breast cancer awareness.
