TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - The Florida Highway Patrols says a total of
131 vehicles were involved in crashes on Interstates 4, 75 and 275
in west Florida.
According to a news release, 14 people were taken to local
hospitals with injuries that weren’t life threatening following the
crashes Sunday.
One of the collisions, which occurred on Interstate 75 near
Tampa, involved more than 15 cars and a charter bus. Hillsborough
County Fire Rescue Chief Craig Lynn said 32 people were aboard the
bus, which was traveling from Sarasota to Gatlinburg, Tenn. He said
the bus carried a church group that was headed to a Christian
jubilee.
FHP blamed all three incidents on a series of chain reactions.
