ATLANTA (AP) - Ludacris — a political weapon? Democrats in Georgia are hoping the rapper help get people out to the polls tomorrow in a runoff for one of the state’s two Senate seats. The rap star will appear at a rally tonight in support of Democrat Jim Martin, who is locked in a close battle with the incumbent Saxby Chambliss.

Martin’s camp is trying to get black voters back to the polls, after a strong turnout in support of Barack Obama in the presidential election. Some Obama political operatives have been dispatched to Georgia in hopes of getting another strong turnout.

The Democrats are trying to get 60 seats in the Senate, which could block Republican filibusters.
