JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Michael Connelly headed back to the newsroom for this latest best-selling thriller.

The literary archive of Pulitzer Prize-winning
author Alice Walker will be opened to the public for the first time
since she placed them at Emory University two years ago.

Daisy Mae Byrd grew up outside of Metter.  Her mother died when she was very young and she had to take on a lot of the household responsibilities.  She’s written a new book, Southern Girl, about her experiences.  She stopped by the WSAV studios today and discussed the book with Kris Hummer.
