Georgia’s gas tax is four cents lower in 2009…but all 50 states could soon see an increase in the federal gas tax.

Georgians have another reason to celebrate the New Year - a reduction in the state’s gas tax.

A 50 percent increase in gasoline and diesel fuel taxes is being urged by a federal commission ot finance highway construction and repair until the government devises another way for motorists to pay for using public roads. 

The CEO of Russia’s state gas monopoly Gazprom says Russia will cut off all gas supplies to Ukraine on Thursday morning.

Gasoline prices across Georgia are at their lowest level in nearly five years, and may continue to fall.
