County’s Building Permits Drop To 8-Year Low
In 2008, new home construction in Beaufort County slipped to its lowerst level since at least 2000, according to an analysis of permitting statistics. The crop of 1,065 permist for new single-family housing units in 2008 was only about a third as many as the county’s total in 206, which was 3,102.
