Georgia Southern Continues the Thrill Ride

Adam Urbano scored on a 3-yard run in triple overtime to lift Georgia Southern to a 44-41 win over The Citadel on Saturday.

 

The Eagles (5-4, 3-3 Southern Conference), who played their third overtime game this season, trailed for much of the game until Antonio Henton scored on a 1-yard run to give them a 21-16 lead in the third quarter.

Alex Sellars caught a 3-yard touchdown pass from Bart Blanchard and the Bulldogs (3-6, 1-5) regained the lead at 24-16 in the third. But the Eagles used a five-play, 41-yard drive, capped by Adrian Mora's 37-yard field goal with 3:42 left in the fourth to tie game at 24-24 and send it into overtime.

Henton, who completed 21 of 35 passes for 261 yards and an interception, threw two touchdowns in OT - a 13-yarder to Zeke Rozier and a 25-yarder to Raja Andrews to give Georgia Southern a 38-31 lead.

Taylor Cornett tied the game in the third overtime on a 2-yard
catch from Blanchard and The Citadel claimed a 41-38 advantage on a
19-yard field goal by Sam Keeler.
