Tigers Season Ends with Loss to N.C. Central

Tim Shankle's 5-yard touchdown run to start the second quarter helped North Carolina Central hold on to a 10-7 win over Savannah State on Saturday.

Shankle rushed for 97 yards on 16 carries for the Eagles (4-7), who outgained the Tigers (5-7) 330-122 in the game.

Keon Williams completed 15 of 20 passes for 216 yards with one interception for North Carolina Central.

Kurvin Curry completed 8 of 18 passes for 99 yards with one touchdown and one interception for Savannah State.

The Eagles opened the scoring on a 42-yard field goal by Brandon Gilbert, and took a 10-0 lead into halftime on Shankle's score.

Curry connected with Isaiah Osborne on a 30-yard score with 3:49 remaining in the third quarter to pull the Tigers within three points, but they wouldn't score again.
