Savannah Boxer Al Seeger out of ICU, Awaits Surgery
Seeger suffered injuries in his bout Friday night in Texas.
Savannah boxer Al Seeger is out of intensive care after suffering injuries sustained in a match Friday night.
Seeger was admitted to a San Antonio Hospital following his NABF title fight against Puerto Rico’s Victor Fonseca..
Seeger lost the bout and the title and suffered bleeding of the brain.
Doctors have given him the all-clear and released him from the ICU unit.
Ken Slats talked with Seeger late Sunday evening.
He is to remain in the hospital for at least a couple of days.
He’s decided to have minor surgery monday to put a small metal plate in his forehead where he was headbutted several times in the fight.
All 4 CAT scans over the past couple of days have come out with positive results. There’s no brain damage.
It was just five months ago that Seeger defeated Benjamin Flores, who died just a few days later from brain injuries sustained in the fight.
