SSU to Play in Georgia Dome in 2010
ATLANTA (AP) - Georgia State will play its first football game
on Sept. 2, 2010, against Shorter and wrap up its inaugural season
against powerhouse Alabama.
The Panthers unveiled their 10-game schedule and new logos
before nearly 1,000 students and fans at their downtown Atlanta
campus on Wednesday.
Georgia State will play six home games at the Georgia Dome:
Shorter, Jacksonville State (Sept. 18), Morehead State (Oct. 2),
Savannah State (Oct. 9), North Carolina Central (Oct. 16), and
Lambuth (Nov. 13).
The Panthers’ first road game is at Campbell on Sept. 25. They
also will travel to Old Dominion (Oct. 23) and South Alabama (Oct.
30) before the Nov. 20 season finale in Tuscaloosa.
Georgia State will play its first two seasons as an independent
in the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision before joining the
Colonial Athletic Association in 2012.
