Former SSU Standout Sentenced to Prison
A former Savannah State football star is headed to prison. A Tampa judge sentenced Troy Hambrick to five years in prison for selling crack cocaine. Hambrick pleaded guilty back in February to one count of distributing 50 grams or more of crack cocaine. He rushed for more than 1000 yards for Savannah State in 1999 before going on to play in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys and the Arizona Cardinals.
