Friday’s Rain…On The Way Out
Wow, what a day! The forecast turned out as predicted…heavy rain and flooding for much of the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry. Much of the area picked up at least 1 inch of rain, but some locations picked up as much as 4 inches!
Even if the rain has stopped falling in your area, it’s still a good idea to play it safe.
Latest on Today’s Rain Event
Now through 5p.m., expect widespread rain that will fall across parts of SE South Carolina and SE Georgia to the North of I-16.
Titan Doppler Radar Indicates Areas of Heavy Rain Continue
1:45 p.m.: Significant standing water reported on Abercorn Street in Savannah in the area of 63rd Street. Also, lanes blocked on parts of East Victory Dr. due to water. Drive with Caution. Flash flood watch remains in effect through 9pm this evening.
Many Rivers Across Southeast Georgia Continue to be Above Flood Stage
The Ogeechee… Ohoopee… Savannah… and Canoochee Rivers are out of their banks in several locations.
Shallow Coastal Flooding Occuring across Coastal Georgia and South Carolina
Strong onshore winds and rainfall leading to higher than normal tides.

2-3 Inches of additional rain possible through this evening.
